Like the handwoven metal lacework of Milan, the Milanese Chest showcases interpretive layers in an ornate, jewelry-like texture. Each of our brass items goes through an extensive handcrafted process. The pieces are primarily constructed in reclaimed teak and individually hand-carved by our skilled artisans. Next, each piece is covered with sheets of brass, then a subtle scratch pattern is applied on the brass prior to a protective topcoat to prevent tarnishing. Due to the nature of handcrafting, your piece may display subtle imperfections in the placement of nails and tacks, or slight wrapping of the brass over edges and around corners. These variations add to the beauty of the piece and no two pieces are exactly alike.
