STIRRUP CUP DOG HEAD SILVER PLATE

Perhaps the most sought after silver tumbler is the Stirrup Cup. Everything associated with hunting in the past centuries is now "Collector's Treasures," especially those silver cups modelled into true life rendering of animal masks. The Stirrup Cup dates from early 1750s onward - seldom holding more liquor than a mounted hunter could consume in a single quaff when pausing for refreshment outside village inns or wayside taverns.
